What does the Head of Events do?

I can honestly say that no-day at Aynhoe is ever the same! That is what makes running events at Aynhoe so special. As Head of Events, I am responsible for a small team of dedicated and experienced professionals who excel not just in delivering your event to the highest expectations but will always seek to exceed them. Ultimately, I am responsible for overseeing everything from the initial enquiry through to completion and departure. A typical event (if there is ever such a thing at Aynhoe!), will begin with an exploratory chat, followed by a visit and tour of the house, and a series of meetings and discussions where detailed planning takes place. It may be you wish to host a party using the outstanding and eclectic Aynhoe collection as a backdrop, or it may be that our Orangery is just the location you were looking for to hold the wedding of your dreams! You may wish to make use of Aynhoe’s extensive parkland or host a fine-dining birthday gathering in our atmospheric Library. Whether your requests concern menus or cocktails, a costume party or a discreet, high-level business meeting, we have the experience and contacts to make it possible.

What makes the job satisfying?

Probably the most satisfying thing for me has been to see the growth of the events business since I joined over six years ago. It has been a joy to see our reputation grow, culminating this year in an award from Bridelux for Best Venue 2019. Yet this would not have been possible without the work and support of all the staff at Aynhoe and I count it a privilege to work with so many dedicated and caring individuals.

What’s the best thing about working at Aynhoe Park?

When I turn into the drive at Aynhoe every morning, I still get a thrill at working at such a beautiful and prestigious house. Yet for all its splendour, there is nothing “stuffy” or confining about Aynhoe. It is a truly magical place and if we manage to bring you into that magic, for even the shortest period, from the moment you first contact us to the time when you leave, then we will have done our job. For it is a job like none other: whatever your dream, Aynhoe can make it reality.
